Starbucks is a great company to work for. They have a lot of perks and benefits for their employees. One piece of advice I would like to share is go apply to a Starbucks and join the company.

Management could have utilized routines or "safeguards" put in place by corporate to make sure busy days were more fluid and manageable.
Advice
Decent place to earn supplemental income while going to school. Typically works around sporadic or ever-changing schedules. Also the benefits include getting one pound of coffee per week. I don't know of many college students who couldn't use that.

What I liked
There both is and was a large sense of community with the other partners. People were easy to learn to work with as a cohesive unit.
What I wish was different
I wish my current manager would take into account availability more than he currently does.
Advice
If you have the ability to work at Starbucks for at least a little while, I highly encourage it. It is important to learn the teamwork skills and customer service skills it provides as well as gives someone an insight on the true behind the scenes of retail and customer service.

I found my co-workers to be very enjoyable and friendly. Even my managers were all kind and friendly with me and it made working there a lot more fun.
What I wish was different
I wish that I had been on the bar more to make drinks, but I got to do most jobs around the store each shift.
Advice
I would share that you learn how to deal with both good and bad customers, giving you patience and discipline.

Use whatever you have to network! I have regulars who come into my Starbucks all the time who work in my future field and I network while I make them coffee! Get creative when reaching out and planning your future career.

Being able to work with others in a supportive and leading role. My coworkers became my family, we support each other and rely on each other daily.

I wish I had worked harder on creating a more personlized experience for my partners, not just my customers.

Don't sweat your mistakes, every barista has made that mistake a hundred times, and it won't be your last time making that mistake either.

I liked helping people who were undecisive. I also like my coworkers whom made my experience great. I loved the fast past environment as well.

I wish I could have transferred to a Starbucks in Atlanta but all the Starbucks positions were filled when returning to school.

Relax, It is not as hard as one thinks. You will definitely learn that learning all the drinks is not a difficult task.
