The ability to make someone’s day from making them their coffee, striking a conversation is a rewarding feeling one can get, no matter how exhausted an individual is from school and personal life.

Advice
Do not ever be afraid to be yourself when making a rapport with future employers because they want to see authenticity and reliability in their employers. Being original gives that extra incentive that adding this specific member to their team can drastically change the work dynamics, creating a fun, yet effective workplace.

What I liked
They let you wear clothes that are within a color scheme so there’s no set uniform and more freedom to dress the way you want to.
What I wish was different
It gets pretty busy and overwhelming working at Starbucks and customers can be grouchy in the morning especially if they have to wait in a long line. We tend to get blamed for it even though it’s out of our control. Also we were definitely understaffed once more people left to go back to school or reduced their hours.
Advice
Starbucks is very fast paced and requires quick learning individuals that are highly motivated. It’s easy to be overwhelmed so I would focus on keeping a calm head and taking things one step at a time. Also take advantage of your resources and ask coworkers if you’re ever confused about something!
