What I liked

Thai people are pretty awesome and I enjoyed being emersed in their culture. Living amongst Thai soldiers was a very unique experience and offered a cool insight into how a very specific subculture lives. Survival training is a pretty cool experience as well, eating bugs a la bear Grylls style and learning how to handle cobras can't be a bad experience.

What I wish was different

I wish we had A/C, it was around 100 degrees Fahrenheit at night and we were sleeping in an open bay with small fans.

Advice

Always be open and welcome new experiences because you might end up doing some really cool stuff. I'd also advise anyone planning to travel to Thailand to stray from places like Bangkok, Phuket and Pattaya if you want a more legitimate Thai experience that reflects the actual country. Areas like Bangkok are very much oriented more towards tourism and I think lack the authenticity of the smaller outlying areas to the north and south
