NASA Langley Research Center

About NASA Langley Research Center

We are an employee resource group called Allies and Advocates for Women (A2W) located at NASA Langley Research in Hampton, VA. We are reaching out to you, because your institution is and all-female university with a STEM program, and we believe that among the best ways to bridge the gap between the STEM environment and female participation is to engage women at a college level.

NASA has an extensive paid internship (NIFS) program at 18 locations throughout the country. The summer session is open for applications until March 5. More information on the NASA NIFS program is available at:

https://intern.nasa.gov

Enclosed is an e-brochure on the internship program with live links to the web site. We would greatly appreciate it if you could distribute this information to your students.

Please note that NASA's internship program is available throughout the year: spring, summer, and fall. In addition, the NIFS program includes fellowships and scholarships.

Established in 1917 by the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA), the research center devotes two-thirds of its programs to aeronautics, and the rest to space. LaRC researchers use more than 40 wind tunnels to study and improve aircraft and spacecraft safety, performance, and efficiency. Between 1958 and 1963, when NASA (the successor agency to NACA) started Project Mercury, LaRC served as the main office of the Space Task Group.
