June - August 2023 • Sacramento, CA

What I liked

I really enjoyed the office environment and how welcoming everyone was. I also really enjoyed getting to know my intern friends.

What I wish was different

Nothing, I think it was great all around.

Advice

I would say to always ask questions and try to get as much work as possible, so that you learn as much as possible.

Audit Intern

June - August 2023 • Washington, DC

What I liked

The culture at Crowe is like no other firm. The DC office, especially, is like one big family that supports you personally and professionally. Crowe cares about you as a person not just a number and truly wants to help you flourish. I also loved all the fun intern events they planned for us each week.

What I wish was different

I wouldn't change much, but I wish there were more opportunities to visit clients on site. I only had this opportunity once, but the Summer is a slower time of year.

Advice

I would encourage you to ask questions to upper management and partners. They are always happy to answer questions and have a strong desire to get to know the interns.

International Tax Intern

June - August 2023 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I like the culture of the firm and I learned a lot of how public accounting operates.

What I wish was different

My team is small and fairly new and therefore my internship was not as structured as I expected.

Advice

Communication is considered a soft skill, but I would argue it is the most important skill when working with a remote team.

Audit Intern

January - March 2023 • Denver, CO

What I liked

Crowe is a great company to work for. They really do care about their employees. The Denver office is filled with friendly and talented individuals who invest into your career. As an intern, you do feel like you're a part of the team, and the level of responsibility you experience is surprising when you look back at your first day.

What I wish was different

I wish I took better notes during the trainings.

Advice

Limit the number of classes to 1 or 0 during the internship although they are very understanding of your schedule and will work around it.

Consulting Intern

June - August 2021 • Chicago, IL

What I liked

I loved working with Crowe this past summer. The experience that I gained gave me a leg up on the competition when I got back to Cincinnati. Life moves very fast in a city like Chicago so the time flew by but all of the people that I met were incredibly nice and helpful. I loved getting to sit in on client meeting on a day to day basis and learn all of the functional skills required to be a consultant in today's world.

What I wish was different

Nothing. The entire experience was incredibly. Even when I was working remotely at my apartment I still had no problem getting in touch with people and staying focused on my work. Plus the city of Chicago is just beautiful.

Advice

One piece of advise I would share about this would be that it is okay to be nervous. I will be honest I had knots in my stomach in the elevator on my way up to the office on my first day but they were settled easily when I met my team. They told me that they felt this way before and it is totally normal. I was told by one of the people in the office that being nervous is a good thing because it means you really care.

Audit Intern

June - August 2019 • New York City, NY

What I liked

I really enjoyed the formal internship program, as it provided me with the ability to connect with other interns, attend training, and receive formal feedback from my superiors.

What I wish was different

I wish I could have interacted with more interns on a regular basis; I was generally the only intern on an audit team whenever I was on an engagement.

Advice

The employees at Crowe really care about the development of the company, and they made me feel incredibly welcome and valuable. I’m really grateful to everyone I was able to work and connect with over my time there, because they were so helpful in answering my questions and providing feedback and advice.

Global Services Temp

March 2018 • New York City, NY

What I liked

The entire staff was extremely supportive as well as patient throughout my training. Even after training, when I moved on to working on actual projects they remained supportive and open to any questions/concerns of mine that arose.

What I wish was different

Advice

With jobs likes this it is always important to be flexible and willing to accommodate multiple requests at once. With that being said, work can really begin to pile up so it is important to keep your lines of communication clear and open to make sure that your work space remains both productive and healthy for you.

Audit Intern

June - August 2019 • San Francisco, CA

What I liked

The opportunity to learn from and work with experienced staff and managers.

What I wish was different

I wish I had lived in the city instead of commuting in on BART every day.

Advice

Work hard and be yourself because the people around you will become like extended family due to the long hours you will work during and after the internship.

CAST Intern

January 2019 • South Bend, IN

What I liked

So many things to try! I was never bored and constantly learning new, helpful tasks. In my experience, almost everyone there is glad to lend help and experience.

What I wish was different

I wish my group was busy enough to stay within during off season, to be able to specialize a little more within the industry. This wasn't by any means a downside, I got to learn areas I otherwise would've never touched!

Advice

Working for such a reputable accounting firm is an amazing opportunity, but for me it came with a good deal of anxiety and intimidation. My supervisor is so responsive and helpful, it's a benefit to everyone to be up front with your concerns! No one expects perfection, and plenty of people will check your work, so no need to worry over the small things!

Audit Intern

May - August 2018 • Costa Mesa, CA

What I liked

Crowe pairs you with a peer and a career coach. I worked on many of the same clients as my peer which allowed me an easier transition. Additionally, you will have several meetings with your peer and career coach to assess the progress you have made throughout the summer.

What I wish was different

There was a small misunderstanding about my start and end dates which was resolved with quick communication.

Advice

I would definitely try to socialize with your co-workers outside of the workspace. It will allow you to have a better idea of what to expect if you come to work full-time.

Risk Technology and Analytics Consultant Intern

May - August 2018 • Chicago Heights, IL

What I liked

The culture and community. Crowe has awesome people and professionals that I would want to be years from now. I also loved the work that I did because it was with a relatively new department, and going back next year, I will get to be part of the growth of this department.

What I wish was different

I wish I was a bit more challenged and while I got to be on two clients, I wish I had more exposure to client work.

Advice

Network with as many interns as you can. These people become really good friends and if you decide to go back, you can see them again!

Financial Audit Intern

May - August 2018 • Columbus, OH

What I liked

I really liked the size of Crowe. My team had about a dozen people on it, so we got to know each other really well. The office is extremely nice with an open floor plan, lots of alternative seating, an outdoor patio, and free address desks. The Columbus office will even pay for your parking, which is definitely a perk. Crowe really cares about its employees, and it is a great place to work.

What I wish was different

I wish that I had another intern on my team and that the interns in the other business units were more social, but the Crowe personnel made up for it.

Advice

Do it! I love Crowe, and I really learned a lot. Also, be yourself and make friends, not coworkers; these could be people you'll be spending a good chunk of your life with.

Risk Consulting Intern

May - August 2017 • Columbus, OH

What I liked

Real world work experience with great pay in a fun city not too far from home, as well as a lot of travel for and internship

What I wish was different

The audit role was less interesting than expected, and it's pretty difficult to get comfortable in a position that is similar to a full-time job in the short span of 3 months.

Advice

Know what you're getting yourself into, and be a sponge. Don't be afraid to make mistakes, but own up to them and learn from them.
