About Uncommon Good

The mission of Uncommon Good is to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty through innovative programs in education, health and urban farming.

We accomplish these goals by helping underprivileged children and youth succeed in school and go to college, by supporting young doctors who are bringing health and wellness into underserved communities, and through an organic urban farming program.

The Connect to College Mentoring Program is designed to inspire at-risk, low income children and youth to stay in school, go to college and break the cycle of poverty. The children in our program are between the ages 9 and 18, who live in the Pomona Valley of Southern California. Our goal is to increase academic achievement and college access for our students by providing them with adult role models, supportive services, and educational opportunities. Community volunteers serve as one-to-one mentors and tutors for Uncommon Good students.
